NEW YORK, Nov. 02, 2016 -- ABM (NYSE:ABM), a leading provider of facility solutions, announced key contracts awarded in concert with its 2020 Vision’s focus on the education market, including multiple custodial service contracts awarded by K-12 school districts. One of the key recent awards was with Northwest Independent School District (NISD) in Fort Worth, TX.

“Since changing custodial vendors, I have been very impressed with ABM’s commitment to serving the Northwest Independent School District,” said Tim McClure, NISD’s District Architect & Planner. “ABM is committed to bringing in managerial experts from across the United States to serve alongside their onboarding staff for the most important time of year for us ... the first week of school.”
Northwest Independent School District (NISD) attracts more than 1,400 new students each year. NISD spans 234 square miles and serves 14 communities in parts of three counties. The district operates three high schools, an accelerated high school, five middle schools, 17 elementary schools, a special programs center and a community-based youth residential program. As of August 2016, NISD educates students across 27 campuses.
At Northwest’s request, ABM took on additional summer deep cleans for the district’s facilities during the transition from the previous contractor, while already delivering deep cleaning for three schools on a timeframe compressed by construction work. “Their commitment to cleanliness, combined with their impressive response time, is providing a significant foundation to the start of this relationship,” said McClure.
Committed to meeting the unique challenges of learning environments also contributed to recent wins for ABM in Arizona and Tennessee. Paradise Valley Unified School District in Phoenix was suffering from custodial staffing challenges due to financial concerns. ABM was able to contract with Paradise Valley under the 1Government Procurement Alliance Program and now provides a strong staff for their 14 elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, and three district support buildings. 1GPA is a national non-profit governmental purchasing cooperative which allows public agencies like k-12 schools to take advantage of existing contracts to purchase the goods and services they need from local and national vendors. ABM is a national 1GPA vendor.
Bradley County Schools in Tennessee has also contracted with ABM on a new four-year contract in which ABM manages services across 11 schools.
"As schools face increasingly uncertain funding and growing costs, ABM is proud to diligently provide stable, cost-efficient support for educators and learning environments,” said David Carpenter, President of ABM’s Education group.
