BTS just made a new record, which is very impressive. The world is still dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, but apparently, the South Korean boy band never stopped working.
The new Guinness World Record
In fact, they recently released their fourth Japanese album called “Map of the Soul: 7 - The Journey.” Prior to this, BTS released an album of the same title - just minus “The Journey” part in April. They also held online concerts, and the first was the “Bang Bang Con: The Live” that took place in June.
This was a paid concert and on July 22, the Guinness World Record announced via its official site, that BTS secured a world record for this show. Based on what details posted, the “Bang Bang Con: The Live” gathered thousands of audiences from 10 countries.
The online concert was live-streamed and tickets were sold via WeVerse. Now, for this, Guinness awarded BTS with the record for having the most viewers for a live stream concert.
It was reported that around 756,000 fans from at least 100 countries have watched the performance on June 14. In this concert, BTS serenaded their fans with 12 songs, and of course, the members consisting of RM, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, V, J-Jope and Suga, also talked to everyone as they go along with their performance.
This was the group’s gift to their fans since their world tour for this year has been canceled. It was supposed to kick off in Seoul last April but apparently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic that made it impossible for concerts to be staged, they had no choice but to cancel.
Another Billboard new record
Despite the crisis that is affecting almost every country in the world, BTS continues to work and this resulted in the team gaining more recognition and breaking more records in the music industry, in and outside of South Korea.
Just this week, Billboard reported that BTS dominates top 3 of World Albums Chart through their newly-released Japanese album called “Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey.” According to the American premiere music chart, no other group has ever placed first in the top 3 charts so this is another record for the band.
