“Better Call Saul” season 4 is going to end with an episode called “Winner.” Some fans think that Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) and Lalo (Tony Dalton) could be the ones to live up to that title in the finale.
The introduction of Lalo is hands down one of the highlights in “Better Call Saul” season 4. Finally, fans saw the man that Saul Goodman (Odenkirk) apparently crossed, as implied in an episode of the original series “Breaking Bad.”
Lalo comes at a time when Nacho (Michael Mando) sits on top of the Salamanca drug business hierarchy. The synopsis for the “Better Call Saul” season 4 finale is very short but it suggests that Lalo has something up his sleeve.
The “Better Call Saul” season 4 teaser reads, “Lalo tracks a loose end in Gus' (Giancarlo Esposito) operation.” The brief video preview also shows more about this angle as Lalo is seen surveilling a Los Pollos Hermanos truck on the move.
It can be recalled that Lalo approached Gus and offered a truce so they stand a chance against drug lord Don Eladio (Steven Bauer). But Gus turned it down, which might compel Lalo to dig around. Will this lead to the discovery that Nacho has actually started working with Gus? If so, that would be an interesting event for the “Better Call Saul” season 4 finale.
Saul was obviously afraid of what Lalo would do to him in “Breaking Bad” even though Lalo never appeared in the original series. So fans are now left to anticipate that Lalo is soon to become a major player in the prequel and it might start by ending “Better Call Saul” season 4 with a bang. And with that, there are predictions that his development as a major character begins with something bad for Nacho.
On the other hand, Jimmy still has a huge fight ahead in “Better Call Saul” season 4 finale. It can be recalled that he was unsuccessful in retrieving his license as a lawyer in the penultimate episode. Will this turn out to be a happy ending?
Some fans believe that Kim (Rhea Seehorn) will be able to pull something off to change the evaluators’ perception of Jimmy. Despite their fight in episode 9, the trailer for “Better Call Saul” season 4 finale shows Kim still fully supporting Jimmy. In one scene, Kim even assures Jimmy that she got his back whatever happens in the hearing.
Whatever strategy Kim and Jimmy have to win this battle, it is safe to assume that Jimmy will eventually get to practice as a lawyer again. It is now a matter of when and what his turning point in changing his name to Saul Goodman will be. With where things are in the prequel series, there is a big chance Saul’s name could pop up on the screen at least in the final seconds of “Better Call Saul” season 4 episode 10, which will air on Monday, Oct. 8, at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
