Fans are still waiting for the release of “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma” chapter 295 that was initially thought to happen this week. Once the manga series comes back, readers will pick up from the cooking duel between Soma and Sarge.
“Shokugeki no Soma” chapter 295 is going to be the first installment for 2019 so it is coming from a plot where Soma and Sarge are competing for the best cake for a midsummer Christmas. It is common for fans to bet on Soma winning since he is the series' main protagonist. But judging based on the events from chapter 294, he might really have a chance. It appears that the key to winning are the firecracker balls on Soma's cake that was first thought as just decorations.
Sarge was all about surprising the judges by her techniques starting with using a chainsaw for whipping up a cake. Soma also impressed the judges for serving a cake with the with flavors they described as exploding like firecrackers. He later revealed that one of the key ingredients is the Japanese mountain yam and further surprised everyone by not using any sugar. The result of the duel will likely be announced in “Shokugeki no Soma” chapter 295.
Before that, it is important to note that the judges commented how Sarge’s and Soma’s are tied, which not surprisingly insulted the member of the Les Cuisiniers Noir. But Soma’s Christmas log cake still have one big surprise that could give him a big advantage. “Shokugeki no Soma” chapter 295 is expected to reveal the secret ingredients used in Soma’s firework balls.
In a previous report, “Shokugeki no Soma” chapter 295 was said to be released on Jan. 9. However, the manga installment is still not available as of this writing. So it appears that the manga series creators are still on break.
“Shokugeki no Soma” chapter 295 is now expected to be released on the next Weekly Shonen Jump issue. Reddit user u/Eggsani said it was supposed to come out on Jan. 14 but the publication will be reportedly on break next week as well so the next likely release date is on Jan. 21.
