For a while there, no one was sure if “Jessica Jones” Season 3 was actually going to happen, what with Netflix axing its most popular shows recently. However, it would seem that the fears of cancelation came to nothing, with the third season well into production. Aside from actress Krysten Ritter who plays the titular character getting her directorial debut, however, not much is known about the show’s third season.
As Den of Geek notes, the recent cancelation of popular shows like “Daredevil” and “Luke Cage” by Netflix made fans anxious about the fate of “Jessica Jones” Season 3. Fortunately, it would seem that the TV gods have chosen to bless viewers with another season of the excellent series, if only for the last time. Among the things that fans can look forward to is the announcement that Krysten Ritter will be directing herself for the first time for one episode.
“I am beyond thrilled to make my directorial debut on Marvel’s Jessica Jones," the actress said. "The entire crew and cast has become family to me, and I’m so appreciative of the opportunity to work with our incredible team in this new way. I am so grateful that Melissa Rosenberg, Jeph Loeb, Marvel, and Netflix entrusted me to take the reins.”
This should make for an interesting development for “Jessica Jones” Season 3 since it would provide viewers with a window into how the actress sees her character. Aside from that, the story of the upcoming season itself is a source of great mystery for the fans with virtually no details about it being released.
Among the theories being floated on the web is how it’s possible for a new drug to flood the streets of New York that would give people some superpowers. If this actually happens in “Jessica Jones” Season 3, it could make for some amazing scenes. As for when the season will premiere, current predictions hover around summer and fall of this year.
