KG Mobility Corp. introduced its electric SUV, Torres EVX, boasting a powerful 207 horsepower motor, 433 km single-charge range, and innovative tech collaborations, poised to redefine the electric SUV market landscape.
The Torres model initially hit the market last July as a gasoline-powered version and quickly gained popularity, becoming a best-seller with over 50,000 units sold in just over a year. This remarkable achievement set a new record for the company regarding rapid sales.
Equipped with a powerful front-wheel-drive motor, the Torres EVX boasts a maximum output of 207 horsepower and 34.6 kgf·m of torque. It represents a remarkable increase of approximately 21% and 22%, respectively, compared to its internal combustion engine predecessor.
Drivers can choose from four driving modes, Comfort, Sports, Eco, and Winter, to personalize their driving experience. Additionally, the vehicle features a three-stage regenerative braking system that helps recharge the battery during deceleration. Designed for city commuting and outdoor adventures, the spacious 839L cargo area and 175mm minimum ground clearance make the Torres EVX versatile and practical.
The SUV is powered by a 73.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) blade battery, delivering an impressive single-charge range of up to 433 km. LFP batteries are known for their lower manufacturing costs and superior stability to traditional nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) batteries.
In an exceptional strategic collaboration, KG Mobility joined forces with EV battery producer BYD during the development of the Torres EVX. This partnership enhanced the battery management system (BMS) and integrated BYD's cutting-edge 'blade battery' technology, increasing energy density by 20% while enhancing durability against external impacts.
The Torres EVX also incorporates KG Mobility's proprietary intelligent adaptive cruise control (IACC) technology. Additionally, it features a 12.3-inch large-screen cluster connected to a 12.3-inch infotainment and navigation system, offering drivers a panoramic display and a seamless driving experience.
With these groundbreaking features, the Torres EVX promises to redefine the electric SUV market, ushering in a new era of sustainable and high-performance vehicles.
