Square Enix will be removing the work of Pierre Taki on “Kingdom Hearts” 3 after authorities arrested the voice actor for drug use. Taki lent his voice to give life to the Japanese version of Olaf in the game. But after the incident, the game studio announced that a new dub will be forthcoming in the next update, Polygon reported.
Of course, this minor scandal is expected to not affect the sales of “Kingdom Hearts” 3. At least, in the Western region. After its release, the game has been doing quite well in the sales department and was even hailed as the top-selling title in the month of January.
As can be expected, however, the sales performance of “Kingdom Hearts” 3 has died down as other titles compete for the gaming community’s attention. One of the most popular games that were recently released is “Devil May Cry 5.” The title has been so popular that it became Capcom’s second-biggest launch, second only to “Monster Hunter: World.”
The game mechanics of “Devil May Cry 5” are among the factors that contributed to its success. And while “Kingdom Hearts” 3 also has some fluid gameplay, it’s not as smooth compared to Capcom’s recent release. However, the game’s flexible battle mechanics is still enjoyable to play with as gamers are able to dispose of enemies in several ways thanks to Sora’s transforming Keyblade.
But other than in-game aspects and sales performance, “Kingdom Hearts” 3 is making headlines again thanks to the light novel adaptation slated for release on March 28, Comicbook reported. The blurb can be read below.
“It’s not something you can teach someone. The desire to help my friends — that is enough. You must decide to regain your lost power first. Sora lost most of the skills he acquired while traveling in the Dream World during his Mark of Mastery exam. The great wizard Yen Side sends Sora on a journey to get the Power of Waking. Sora, Donald, and Goofy’s new journey to stop Xehanort begins!” The light novel has been written by Nomura Tetsuya and Oka Masaru, marking the first literary work based on “Kingdom Hearts 3.”
