LEHI, Utah, Dec. 12, 2017 -- Lingotek | The Translation Network announced today a new Linguistic Quality Evaluation (LQE) application (app) that integrates quality evaluation, scoring, and reporting inside its industry-leading translation management system (TMS). The LQE app allows enterprises to create and define the core components of a best-in-class quality program:
- Clear definition of error types, categories, and severities.
- Dynamic scorecards that adjust to the type of content being translated.
- Managing and publishing versions of a quality program.
- Executing quality evaluation during translation.
- A feedback mechanism for scoring and grading translation quality.
- Analysis of, and reporting on quality over time.
"Until now, there haven’t been any tools on the market to create or administer a quality program at scale," said Rob Vandenberg, President and CEO of Lingotek. "Lingotek’s LQE app is the industry’s first and only tool to systematize and integrate all of the manual processes associated with monitoring translation quality."
Lingotek’s LQE app lets companies design their own quality program by either choosing from an industry standard (DQF, LISA, etc.) or creating their own program. They can define and categorize error types and assign severity levels. The app provides dynamic scoring of translation quality based on document meta such as content type, domain, or content management system (CMS). It can also establish a standardized word count (e.g. 1000 words) as a baseline for comparing quality scores among documents of different lengths. In addition, the Lingotek LQE app lets linguists download a quality report for their translations in real time, giving them the immediate feedback that leads to higher translation quality.
The Lingotek LQE app also collects data that localization quality managers need to make strategic decisions, including visibility into what defines a quality translation; data to analyze trends and spot common mistakes; reporting on quality scores over time, including the ratio of passing to failing grades; and the ability to filter all documents in a project by quality scores to see only those failing to meet quality standards.
For enterprises that want to outsource quality management, Lingotek is adding a Quality Services offering that uses its latest technology to integrate quality at every step of the translation process. Lingotek’s tech-enabled Language Services uses tools like the LQE app and Lingotek’s full-featured, cloud-based TMS with an in-context CAT tool, multilingual business intelligence app, easy-to-use customizable workflows, and more to deliver the highest quality localized content throughout the entire content lifecycle.
