LOS ANGELES, Jan. 08, 2018 -- B. Riley FBR, Inc., a leading full service investment bank and wholly-owned subsidiary of B. Riley Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ:RILY), announced today that industry veteran, Mark J. Grant, has joined the firm as Managing Director and Chief Global Strategist. In his new role, Mr. Grant will provide B. Riley FBR and its affiliate, Wunderlich Securities, Inc., with insights on economic trends and market strategy.
Mr. Grant brings 43 years of experience in the financial industry and is recognized for his commentary on the financial markets. He is frequently featured in the financial media where he discusses domestic and foreign market trends and the impact of socio-political change on market behavior.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Grant served as Managing Director and Chief Strategist at Hilltop Securities Inc. Throughout his career, he has held various senior management positions, including serving as head of capital markets and as a board member at four investment banks. Mr. Grant also served as the President and as a board member of a public company in the telecommunications field while continuing to work on Wall Street. In addition, he is the author of “Out of the Box,” a daily newsletter of market commentary with a distribution of approximately 5,000 institutions in approximately 48 countries, as well as the author of an investment strategy book titled “Out of the Box and Onto Wall Street.” Mr. Grant is one of only 15 people designated by Bloomberg as a Bloomberg prophet. He is a graduate of Occidental College and is based out of the firm’s Ft. Lauderdale office.
