Netmarble Corp., the largest mobile gaming company in South Korea, has inked a partnership deal with The Sandbox online gaming platform to work together on the metaverse business. The agreement is a strategy for the former to bolster its metaverse content.
Netmarble and The Sandbox agreed to cooperate for content on the virtual world and experiences for their users. Moreover, company officials shared this is a strategic deal that is expected to improve the gaming content while also offering different exciting experiences to players.
According to The Korea Herald, the online gaming platform will create a Netmarble IP space inside the K-Verse, which is a special space made exclusively for Korean culture and entertainment. This will give players a chance to get themselves engrossed in the Korean gaming firm’s popular copyrighted game content.
On the other hand, The Sandbox will be able to make items based on Netmarble’s copyright-protected works, such as its upcoming metaverse-based board game featuring real estate titled “Meta World: My City.” Netmarble will also introduce new events and content in The Sandbox gaming platform.
This collaboration has the goal of improving The Sandbox’s metaverse content through the integration of Netmarble’s IPs and popular brands to develop unique experiences for global players.
“We are pleased to present Netmarble's representative copyrighted works to new and existing audiences via The Sandbox’s continuously evolving metaverse platform,” Netmarble said in a statement. “We look forward to delivering a diverse assortment of refreshing content within the gaming platform going forward.”
The Sandbox Korea added, "We welcome Netmarble’s robust global games to our metaverse. We are anticipating a close collaboration that will enable us to create entertaining new content and collaboration events together based on Netmarble’s most popular copyrighted works."
Meanwhile, Netmarble and The Sandbox’s partnership will start with the launch of the “Netmarble IP LAND” in the K-Verse. This is a 6×6-scale space that will give users immersive experiences in the Netmarble-inspired virtual world.
