The latest episodes of the Wano Country arc did not disappoint fans in terms of how the manga stories were adapted to anime as well as Toei’s overall work on the animations. In terms of the story, it has followed events that took place from the source materials that focused on Luffy’s meeting with Tama. The two become closer friends in “One Piece” episode 897 as the young girl grieves the death of Ace.
In “One Piece” episode 897, Luffy will bring Tama to another Wano town so he can get her some clean food to eat. They will pass through the so-called Wasteland and while on their way, Tama will process the news of Ace’s death.
The young girl who is celebrating her eighth birthday will recall the times she met Ace in Wano. It is possible that “One Piece” episode 897 will feature more flashback scenes with Ace and other Whitebeard Pirate members.
Tama will also reveal in “One Piece” episode 897 that her dream of becoming a ninja is also inspired by Ace. He promised the younger Tama that once the Whitebeard Pirate is reestablished, they will come back to Wano. Tama asked if she could join their crew, to which Ace said she could if she becomes a ninja.

Another major event happening in “One Piece” episode 897 is Luffy finally finding a familiar face — Zoro. The Straw Hat Pirates will be reunited once Luffy and Tama set foot in the Wasteland of Wano.
The two get a little time to catch up and talk about the food scarcity in Wano, and Luffy would tell Zoro about needing to bring Tama to a doctor. This is going to be the cue for Basil Hawkins’ arrival. Based on the title of “One Piece” episode 897, Luffy and Zoro’s fight with Hawkins might not officially take place in this installment.
