More details about the highly anticipated mid-range contender OnePlus Nord 2 are being revealed online. A new report suggests that the device could be officially announced within the latter part of July.
OnePlus Nord 2 could be launched very soon
Last year, the launch of the first OnePlus Nord marked the arrival of more mid-range phones from OnePlus. However, the company took a slightly different approach in 2021 as it initially unveiled other budget-friendly smartphones before the actual successor of the OnePlus Nord.
Fans of the smartphone brand saw the release of the new OnePlus Nord CE and OnePlus Nord N200 in June. This month, the arrival of the OnePlus Nord 2 is looking more likely.
Well-known leaker Mukul Sharma, also known as stufflistings, reported on Monday that the OnePlus Nord 2 is planned to launch within the last 10 days of July. The tipster added that July 24 is one of the likely schedules for the device’s announcement. But he also noted that this is only the case if “there are no last moment changes.” While the provided date is not a hundred percent solid information yet, it is worth noting that the first Nord was officially announced on July 21 last year.

OnePlus has a habit of confirming the design and some details on technical specifications ahead of a phone’s launch. With the OnePlus Nord 2 announcement expected to be around July 24, fans should expect official teasers to be posted on the company’s social media pages in the coming weeks. One way to get the latest news is to follow the official OnePlus Nord page on Instagram.
OnePlus Nord 2 design, specs: What to expect
Fans do not have to wait for official teasers, though, to see how the OnePlus Nord 2 would look like. Long-time reliable leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, a.k.a. OnLeaks, recently shared renders of the upcoming device. It should be immediately noticeable how it looks almost identical to the standard OnePlus 9 model, which could be the company’s way of giving the device a more premium appearance.

Some specs of the OnePlus Nord 2 have also been leaked by 91Mobiles. Per the report, display features will be the same for the most part. The device would still sport a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. The fingerprint scanner is expected to remain under the screen.
