The Oppo Find X4 Pro is expected to be one of the first devices to be announced by the company in 2022. However, a report suggests it could be announced with a slightly surprising name, while new leaked renders show an interesting design choice for its camera bump.
While the upcoming device is widely referred to as Oppo Find X4 Pro in the rumor mill, Prepp reports that it could end up being called the Oppo Find X5. The publication bases its assumption on the fact that the number 4 is considered unlucky in Chinese customs because it is almost homophonous to the Chinese word for death.
Oppo has yet to announce the name of its next Oppo Find X device, but skipping Find X4 Pro is plausible. Other China-based OEMs like OnePlus did the same. This year, the Taiwanese company Asus also skipped the “ROG Phone 4” name and launched the latest model officially as the ROG Phone 5.
Meanwhile, well-known leaker OnLeaks has also released the alleged Oppo Find X4 Pro renders that Prepp said were based on “early prototype schematics.” The general design of the camera bump is similar to previous Find X models, but some tech fans find it absurd because of its irregular shape. Whether there is a technical explanation for this design or it is just purely for aesthetics is still unclear.
I'm back from the Future with stunning 5K renders providing your very first look at which I assume will be released as the #Oppo Find X3 Pro successor and thus, likely marketed as #OppoFindX4Pro or #OppoFindX5Pro... #FutureSquad

The same report also shared some possible technical specifications for the Oppo Find X4 Pro, including a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will reportedly use an option in-display fingerprint sensor.
The Oppo Find X4 Pro is expected to be powered by Dimensity 9000 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The report did not mention if there are other versions of the device with a different SoC or other memory configurations.
It is expected to feature a 5000mAh battery. The renders suggest Oppo Find X4 Pro will feature three cameras on the back that might include two 50MP lenses and one 13MP sensor. The device is anticipated to launch in March 2022, and it is confirmed to be the first phone with Oppo’s in-house MariSilicon X NPU.
