‘Poldark’ Season 4 Episode 2 Spoilers, Air Date: Hugh Dies Despite Sex with Demelza, Ross Becomes MP

Back in Season 3 of the “Poldark,” it was never explicitly shown or explained if Hugh (Josh Whitehouse) and Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) had sex or not. However, scriptwriter Debbie Horsfield had revealed that she believes that they did. So, with that being the case, the death of Hugh in “Poldark” Season 4 Episode 2 is basically him proving his own hypothesis wrong. On the other hand, Ross (Aidan Turner) did become a new MP.

As Radio Times notes, Hugh died in “Poldark” Season 4 Episode 2 even after it was implied that he and Demelza did the deed. The poet was even sly enough to use his illness to finally convince Mrs. Poldark to give in to the desires they shared. It turns out that even this particular cure could not solve Hugh’s ailment. Either that or the sex just was not that good.

In any case, he is dead, and both Ross and Demelza are now left with this huge weight that will need to be dealt with. Unfortunately, it would seem that doing so will need to wait, with Ross needing to go away and fulfill his new responsibilities as an MP. He won the seat after a close race in “Poldark” Season 4 Episode 2.

The victory that Ross secured was only made possible thanks to the support that he got from various major players in the field. Lord Falmouth (James Wilby) and Sir Francis Basset (John Hopkins) made it possible for Ross to secure the seat over George Warleggan (Jack Farthing), Vulture reports. This made “Poldark” Season 4 Episode 2 quite the intense political race.

Many other events occurred in “Poldark” Season 4 Episode 2, including a wrestling scene with some eye gouging and even more toe-sucking, which is not the prettiest sight. Viewers can catch “Poldark” Season 4 Episode 2 and the rest of the season at 9 p.m. every Wednesday.
