According to an SEC Form 8-K submitted 28 September, Strategy (formerly Micro Strategy) has added another 1,665 Bitcoin to its stockpile, spending $142.7 million at an average price of $85,681 per coin between 21 and 27 September 2026. The buy, the company's second straight weekly purchase following a three-week break in late August and early September, increases total holdings to 847,666 BTC, now worth around $70.6 billion at current spot prices close to $84,000.
The company's total position is $63.95 billion in total cost, an all-in average purchase price of $75,437 per BTC, therefore resulting in an unreported gain of about $6.65 billion. Significantly, the acquisition of 950 BTC at $79,670 per coin last week implies that Strategy is currently paying about $6,000 per coin more than it was just seven days earlier—a sign of conviction not dampened by growing prices.
The purchase was financed by at-the-market equity sales: 1.47 million Class A shares sold for net revenues of $246.2 million, broken down into $142.7 million for Bitcoin and $103.5 million for repurchasing STRC preferred stock—its digital credit instruments. Strategy's continuous capital management playbook of stacking BTC while meeting preferred equity responsibilities, with the buy-resume confirming the treasury machine still runs at full speed toward the last quarter of 2026, is reflected in this twin use of funds.
