“The OA” Season 2 will be dropping on March 22 and audiences can’t decide whether it’s worth the watch or not. Part of the reason why this series is drawing attention is how the story unfolded in the previous installment.
Frustrating, confusing, and seemingly ill-advised, “The OA” Season 2 will be trudging head-on with the elements the show employed in the first entry. It will also be adding new faces into its ensemble, which isn’t the best route to take given that it’s already brimming with other characters that have yet been fully explored, Collider reported.
The trailer for “The OA” Season 2 answered the previous entry’s cliffhanger – Prairie (Brit Marling) did manage to jump from an alternate dimension. The problem is that she’ll still find herself captive once again in the brilliant yet twisted machinations of Hap (Jason Isaacs).
In “The OA” Season 2, Prairie will be paired with Karim Washington (Kingsley Ben-Adir). Washington is a detective-turned-private-eye who is looking into the disappearance of several teenagers. Audiences should also expect the story to jump from one dimension to the other as it tries to navigate the narrative through the eyes of other characters.
As for why it took nearly three years for “The OA” Season 2 to drop, Marling explained that her role in the production of the series heavily affected its creation. “Because I’m both the lead actor and a lead writer we can’t leap-frog the production. We have to write all eight chapters up front before we can begin shooting the first chapter,” the actress explained.
And for those who are interested in watching “The OA” Season 2, it’s best to dive in with a lot of patience on hand as the series will undoubtedly test it to its limit. With tangled plotlines, multiple characters, and the story set on multiple realities, the second entry is looking to surpass the previous season’s peculiar storytelling and mind-bending plot.
