HBO has given “Westworld” season 3 the go signal in May 2018 however, its filming is taking a while to begin. Almost a year had come to pass, but there is no news about the sci-fi fantasy drama’s production yet.
What’s more, the original filming set for “Westworld” season 3 has been destroyed by the Woolsey wildfire that hit California in November last year. with this turn of events, the production team had to make some changes since they need to find a new place to film the scenes.
Filming - When Will It Begin?
It appears that “Westworld” season 3 is not going to be back to set anytime soon. In fact, even the actors in the drama said that there is no notice about filming schedule yet and do not have an idea when their work will resume.
Ed Harris, “Westworld” season 3’s The Man In Black revealed that it could take some time before they are called back to the set. Huffington Post was able to talk to him via phone interview and he shared, “We’re not supposed to start shooting Season 3 until next June (2019), so I don’t even know if I’m in it or not.”
When asked where “Westworld” season 3 is heading, the 68-year-old veteran actor admitted that he has no idea. “I don’t really know. As the show progresses, there seem to be more and more dimensions.”
He added, “There’s the future, there’s the past, there’s the present, and so anything’s possible. But I can’t say much more than that.”
Plot Predictions
The previous season concluded with the hosts leaving the Westworld park and presumably, they have gone to the to the real world. There are predictions that they will find a new park and that is where they will begin a new era and anything can happen. With the new environment, the hosts do not know yet what they will face there but for sure a new battle is waiting for them in “Westworld” season 3.
By season’s end, a number of hosts have successfully escaped to a mysterious heavenly paradise within the Forge. But sadly, Maeve (Thandie Newton) and company just don’t make it. And in its final moments, the show hit us with a major revelation: Dolores the host has been secretly hiding within the body Charlotte Hale (Tessa Thompson) and she’s headed out of Westworld with a fancy handbag full of robot brains.
Cast
It was reported that “Breaking Bad” actor, Aaron Paul signed up as new cast addition in “Westworld” season 3. He will be a series regular but his exact role is still unknown.
Of course, Evan Rachel Wood will return as Dolores and Thandie Newton will be Maeve once again. It is also expected that Jeffrey Wright (Bernard Lowe), Luke Hemsworth (Ashley Stubbs), Katja Herbers (Emily) and Ed Harris (Man in Black) are coming back for “Westworld” season 3.
Air Date
Finally, “Westworld” season 3 is likely to feature just 10 episodes because the first and second seasons aired with 10 stories as well. If filming will really start this June, then late 2019 and early 2020 are the safest bet for its premiere date.
