NEW YORK, Jan. 04, 2017 -- Planet Bordeaux producers are gearing up to return to the U.S. to launch the 6th edition of the Goldmine of Planet Bordeaux Wines event series. The Bordeaux & Bordeaux Supérieur Winemakers’ Association will organize an intriguing blind tasting and wine pairing dinner for industry professionals in New York, Washington, DC and Philadelphia. Two more events are planned for autumn 2017 in Boston and Nashville. This first round of events will be held on Monday, January 30th in New York, on Wednesday, February 1st in Washington, DC and on Monday, February 6th in Philadelphia.

A colorful range of wines will be presented by renowned sommelier Michael Madrigale, ambassador for Planet Bordeaux wines in the United States. “The tasting will highlight how diverse, high quality and affordable the wines of Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur truly are,” said Madrigale. “From the mouth-watering Bordeaux Blanc, to the plush Bordeaux Rosé, and the unmistakable and incomparable Bordeaux AOC and Bordeaux Supérieur reds – there is a standard of excellence inherent to these appellations that rival the world’s greatest wine regions.” Madrigale is Vice President of Digital Marketing at Wine Access, a direct-to-consumer wine sales company. Madrigale previously served as Head Sommelier at Bar Boulud, Boulud Sud and Epicerie Boulud. He is a James Beard nominee and Wine Enthusiast Magazine named him as one of the “40 Under 40” for 2014.
Members of the trade and press will meet winemakers and representatives from Château Lamothe de Haux, Château des Arras, Vignobles Ducourt, Barton & Guestier, Château Penin, Château La France, Gironde & Gascogne and Producta among others during the event.
