The All Progressives Congress (APC) named three politicians from other parties to coordinate state campaigns for Nigeria's 2027 presidential race, highlighting different alliances and unresolved nomination questions.

The campaign council list names Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as coordinator for Rivers State and the capital territory. It assigns Osun State Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Accord to Osun and Anambra State Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to Anambra. President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the council in Abuja on Oct. 14.

APGA National Publicity Secretary Ejimofor Opara said in a statement carried by Punch that the party's executive committee adopted Tinubu as its presidential candidate while APGA plans to contest legislative seats. Soludo linked the party's support to its stated priorities of national unity, security and prosperity.

Adeleke has endorsed Tinubu's re-election while urging officials to strengthen Accord in Osun, according to a statement from his office. The party's presidential nomination remains contested. The Guardian and Punch reported that a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered Accord on Oct. 5 to submit Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim's name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Accord's leadership had rejected his claimed nomination before the ruling, and Olawepo-Hashim told Channels Television that Adeleke could not dictate how Osun voters would vote.

Wike also voiced support for Tinubu at the council's inauguration. PDP caretaker committee spokesman Jungudo Mohammed told Punch that the party had blessed Wike's work with the president, but did not identify a party decision approving his campaign coordinator role.

INEC has scheduled Nigeria's presidential and National Assembly elections for Jan. 16, 2027.
