ARX Robotics and Ukraine's ROBONEERS said Thursday, Oct. 29, that they had completed initial tests integrating a SABER combat module with a GEREON unmanned ground vehicle in a planned fire-support system for Ukraine's Defense Forces.
ARX described GEREON as providing mobility, power and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, while SABER supplies fire support. The company reported completion of the initial testing but gave no test conditions or results.
ARX lists logistics resupply, casualty evacuation, electronic warfare, reconnaissance, combat and counter-drone operations among GEREON's missions.
The Office of the President of Ukraine said the firms concluded an agreement at the Ukrainian-German Business Forum on Oct. 4. ARX said their technical partnership was signed in Kyiv in the presence of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
ROBONEERS CEO Anton Skrypnyk said: “The SABER combat module is designed to adapt to the operational needs of military units, not the other way around.”
ARX aims to integrate the first SABER modules in M2 and MK 19 (M) configurations with GEREON by the end of 2026. It said initial deliveries will depend on the operational requirements of Ukraine's Defense Forces but set no delivery date.
