An Ethereum address labeled Aave by Whale Alert received 133,980,000 USD Coin (USDC) from an unidentified address on Oct. 20, 36 minutes after sending an equal amount to it, the tracker’s records show.
Whale Alert logged the outgoing transfer at 7:32 p.m. ET (23:32 UTC) and estimated its value at about $133.95 million. The second transfer, at 8:08 p.m. ET (00:08 UTC Oct. 21), carried the same USDC amount in the opposite direction. Whale Alert valued it at about $134.02 million.
The tracker labels the other address “Unknown Whale 1.” Its records show the same two addresses in both transactions, with their sender and recipient roles reversed. Matching amounts do not establish who controls the unidentified address or whether the particular USDC units sent out were the ones sent back.
Aave's protocol lets users borrow or lend crypto assets. The transaction records establish the timing and amounts of the two transfers but give no reason for them.
