GREENVILLE, S.C., April 21, 2017 -- eRAD, a subsidiary of RadNet, Inc. (NASDAQ:RDNT), a leading provider of standards-based, web-centric radiology image and data management solutions, announced today that Adams Diagnostic has implemented its RIS, PACS, and Patient and Physician Portals to achieve greater clinical and business productivity.
A multi-modality center, Adams Diagnostic’s chief focus is small community medicine. Located in Gettysburg, Penn., it is the only freestanding imaging center in a 30-mile radius.
The eRAD platform has enabled Adams Diagnostic to streamline its workflow and to strengthen its relationships with patients and the referring physician community. “All of our referring physicians—and that includes orthopedists, general practitioners, oncologists, EMTs, every type—all of them want reports right away,” said Irfan Shafique, M.D., medical director of Adams Diagnostic. “With this in mind, we are preparing to launch eRAD’s Physician Portal so they can get same-day access. It gives us a seamless relationship with the referring provider and saves on so many time-consuming staff interventions, like calling back and forth and burning CDs. The key thing in referrals is the relationship, and quick access is one reason why providers send their patients to our center.”
eRAD has helped Adams Diagnostic gain efficiencies across its workflow. Rahul Smith, consultant for ADI, said: “We had disparate systems before, which weren’t integrated and caused a lot of disruption with things like multiple logins and manual image loading. Now with a single, coherent platform, all of those processes are reduced to one click. A physician opens his or her worklist in eRAD, and everything loads at once—prior images, all documents, even the patient’s allergies.”
Dr. Shafique notes that the practice plans to download eRAD’s new 3D Volume Rendering module to gain even greater productivity. “Now we won’t have to go to a separate workstation for those kinds of studies either,” he said. “It’ll be a big plus to save time on that.”
Administrators can monitor all activity in the business to stay strategic, such as real-time snapshots of report turnaround times, a key measure for Adams Diagnostic. The practice has a flexible model—a hybrid of on-site and teleradiology. “eRAD gives us the ability to connect universally with remote readers and to automate those workflows as well,” said Smith.
Seth Koeppel, Senior VP of Sales at eRAD, said, “Adams Diagnostic is a great example of why and how our technology works. It’s a busy center that is now going to gain tremendous productivity over its previous set-up—and without a complicated installation that is fraught with a bunch of workarounds. They’re getting all the tools they need to stay focused on patients and the referring community. Plus they have the ability to scale that same, coherent, straightforward solution as their business expands. We’re delighted to make a difference for a community-focused practice like Adams Diagnostic.”
