Adani Green Energy Limited reported a 33% rise in electricity sales in its fiscal second quarter, attributing the increase to added generating capacity as it expanded renewable power and battery storage in India.
The company sold 12,090 million units of electricity in the three months ended Sept. 30. Revenue from supplying power increased 45% to ₹4,019 crore from ₹2,776 crore, according to its results release. Adani Green’s measure of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization from power supply rose 51% to ₹3,835 crore.
The operating gains followed a year of capacity additions. Adani Green had 20,763 megawatts of operational renewable capacity on Sept. 30, up from 16,680 megawatts a year earlier, according to its earnings presentation. The company said those additions drove the increase in electricity sales.
The buildout has required substantial spending. Adani Green reported capital expenditure of ₹17,160 crore for the six months ended Sept. 30, up 38% from the same period a year earlier. Its reported margin on power supply earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization increased to 92% from 90.5%.
Storage is another part of the expansion. At Khavda, installed battery storage reached 6,632 megawatt-hours; the company said it added 3,081 megawatt-hours during the quarter. Adani Green is targeting at least 10 gigawatt-hours of storage in fiscal 2026-27.
The company’s earnings presentation identified transmission curtailment during peak daylight hours as a constraint at some solar assets. Adani Green Energy CEO Ashish Khanna said the company was “closely monitoring the availability of transmission infrastructure” as it expanded storage. Adani Green targets 50 gigawatts of operational renewable capacity by 2030 and says its Khavda project is planned to reach 30 gigawatts by 2029.
Adani Green’s investor calendar tentatively lists Jan. 20, 2027, for a board meeting on its next quarterly results.
