Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC announced two retail funds through its GIFT City unit on Oct. 19, creating investment routes from India to emerging markets and from overseas into Indian equity schemes. The company calls them the subsidiary’s initial retail offerings and says the outbound scheme seeks long-term capital appreciation.

The company set an initial minimum of $500, in $100 increments, and said later investments could begin at $100, also in $100 increments. Those figures apply to eligible investors generally; the announcement does not set separate minimums for each fund.

The outbound ABSL Emerging Market Equity Fund is an open-ended thematic fund of funds designed for resident Indians. The company says most of its holdings will be units of ARGA Emerging Market Equity Fund, either alone or together with other emerging-market funds. Indian residents can invest through the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS), while eligible Indian companies may use the Overseas Portfolio Investment (OPI) route. Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC describes ARGA’s method as value-oriented, combining quantitative screening with fundamental research.

The inbound ABSL India Growth Fund is aimed at nonresident Indians (NRIs) and foreign investors. It will invest in equity-oriented schemes run by Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, including exchange-traded funds and index funds. The company describes it as an actively managed, diversified fund, with allocations across underlying schemes, sectors, market capitalizations and investment themes.

The funds will be offered by Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC International (IFSC) Limited, the parent’s wholly owned subsidiary. It was incorporated Dec. 4, 2025, and took over the GIFT City branch’s fund-management business on March 23, 2026, according to the AMC’s FY26 investor presentation. On an April 23 earnings call, Managing Director and CEO A. Balasubramanian said the subsidiary had obtained a retail license. In the Oct. 19 announcement, Balasubramanian described the company’s GIFT City presence as “a strategic step towards building our global investment capabilities from India.”

The company has not said when subscriptions will open.
