Aecon Group Inc. said Tuesday it had acquired every outstanding preferred share in Aecon Utilities for $320 million, completing a transaction the company had disclosed earlier.

The acquisition drew on Aecon’s existing cash. Its construction portfolio includes nuclear and urban transportation work, along with civil, utility and industrial projects. Aecon also serves public and private clients and trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange as ARE.
