The Agentic AI Foundation announced four projects on Oct. 22, lifting its hosted portfolio to 10 and giving developers shared initiatives for connecting models, training agents and running tasks.

Open Responses, contributed by OpenAI, sets out common ways for applications to exchange requests and responses with different model providers, including streamed replies and tool use. Its design draws on OpenAI’s Responses API. AAIF says a shared format could reduce the separate adapter work developers face when providers use different interfaces.

The other additions address different parts of agent development. Anthropic’s Agent Skills lets teams supply agents with task-specific guidance and supporting files or scripts. Hugging Face’s OpenEnv gives agents a client-server way to interact with training environments; each environment determines how actions work and how results are scored. Alibaba’s OpenSandbox offers isolated task execution through common interfaces, with Docker and Kubernetes runtimes and SDKs for several programming languages.

The projects were publicly introduced before joining AAIF. Hugging Face described OpenEnv Hub as a joint launch with Meta in October 2025. Anthropic published Agent Skills as an open standard in December 2025, OpenAI announced Open Responses in January 2026, and an AAIF project proposal dates OpenSandbox’s public repository to December 2025.

The additions bring AAIF’s hosted count from three at its December 2025 launch to 10. The six earlier hosted initiatives include goose, AGENTS.md, Agent Router, agentgateway, the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol and the Model Context Protocol (MCP). AAIF says its projects follow open, vendor-neutral governance.

Xiaobin Xu, Alibaba’s head of development infrastructure, said OpenSandbox’s future should not be defined by a single company: “we don't want its future to be defined by a single company.” The announcement coincided with AGNTCon + MCPCon North America, scheduled for Oct. 22-23 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center.
