Airtm expects to start its retail service in Q4 2026, allowing wallet users to pay at participating stores through BVNK’s Stellar payment infrastructure.

The companies unveiled the agreement in Lisbon on Oct. 29 during the Stellar Meridian Conference. They have not named initial retailers or markets, or set a precise launch date.

Airtm also presented Airtm Connect, a product for digital-asset firms seeking access to Airtm users, while giving customers additional ways to add money to wallets and receive payments. Airtm CEO Rubén Galindo Steckel said, “We believe payments should move natively on-chain.”

Airtm Connect operates on Stellar with USD Coin (USDC). The companies have not specified the asset merchants will receive or published fee and currency-conversion details.

Airtm is also due to get access to Mastercard’s Global Money Platform, a service Mastercard and BVNK launched Oct. 15 that combines fiat-currency and stablecoin functions through one API. The companies have not specified which platform functions Airtm will use or when integration will happen.
