A Lithuanian bubble tea maker will come under AB Akola Group’s control as the Baltic food company lifts its holding to 51%, extending a partnership that began with a minority investment in 2024.

Akola announced Oct. 19 that it is increasing its ownership of UAB OMG Bubble Tea to a controlling 51%. The parties agreed to keep the transaction price confidential, Akola said.

After the deal, Akola will appoint three of OMG’s five board members. The founders will continue to take part in the company’s management and business development.

Founded in 2022, OMG produces natural bubble tea. Its sales revenue reached EUR 9.5 million in the 2025 financial year. Akola says exports account for about 97% of the company’s products, with shipments reaching France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, Greece and Italy.

OMG’s production facility in Panevėžys employs 51 people following automation and operational changes, according to Akola. In June, the company began producing and selling functional carbonated drinks, which are available in Lithuania and exported to Greece and Italy.

Mažvydas Šileika, Akola’s deputy CEO for finance and investments, said the group plans to support OMG’s international expansion with funding and expertise in finance, manufacturing, exports, governance and business development.

Akola said the investment fits its strategy of backing businesses it considers to have strong growth prospects. It cited earlier investments in Geoface, a smart farming start-up, and Brite, a functional beverages start-up, as examples of that approach.

Akola owns a Baltic agriculture and food production group with more than 5,000 employees. The company said its audited consolidated revenue was EUR 1.5 billion in the 2025-26 financial year, with EBITDA of EUR 95 million and net profit of EUR 43 million.
