Al Jazeera reported protests after Ueno Bank’s shutdown, adding a public dimension to the crisis EconoTimes previously covered through its impeachment story.

The outlet estimated that about 60% of Paraguay’s adults bank with Ueno.

Reuters also reported problems at other banking apps during the crisis.

The Association of Banks of Paraguay (Asoban) said financial institutions were handling more customers moving their accounts away from ueno, while the wider banking system remained functional.

Customers faced disrupted account access, and protests followed the closure.
