Kurmuk Mine has yet to begin production after Allied Gold Corporation’s August start-up aim, and the company now expects ore feed this week, with a first gold pour targeted soon afterward.

In its Oct. 29 update, Allied Gold said the mine remains in wet commissioning. Water transfer from the main storage dam to the processing plant has begun, and drives for the semi-autogenous grinding and ball mills are energized as testing nears completion. The crushing circuit is running, and stockpiled ore was approaching the amount the company plans to keep on hand for about three months of processing. Allied said mining grades were in line with expectations and supporting infrastructure was complete. The update did not announce a gold pour or give exact dates for ore feed and first gold.

The company expects Kurmuk to produce 25,000 to 35,000 ounces of gold in November and December, with commercial production expected during those months. It forecast 55,000 to 65,000 ounces in the first quarter of 2027 and maintained full-year 2027 guidance of 240,000 to 270,000 ounces. Its 2028 outlook is about 300,000 ounces.

The August start-up aim appeared in Allied’s second-quarter release. On Sept. 17, it said ore had passed through the crusher, while feed to the grinding circuit was still expected. On Oct. 6, the company said grinding-circuit feed was expected imminently. Its latest update puts ore feed later, in the week of Oct. 29.

Allied said local stakeholders, including artisanal miners in some exploration-licence areas, had agreed to work with it on exploration. The company said the agreement is intended to help identify targets, grow mineral inventory and extend the mine’s life. It projects average annual production of about 300,000 ounces during Kurmuk’s first four full operating years.

Allied scheduled its third-quarter 2026 results for release after market close Nov. 4 and a conference call for Nov. 5 at 9 a.m. ET.
