Amazon Web Services (AWS) last week announced a new service that will facilitate launching blockchain networks for Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric protocols, CoinDesk reported.
The new AWS Blockchain Templates will provide clients with a “fast and easy” way to develop and deploy secure blockchain networks using open source frameworks. In a blog post, dated April 19, AWS chief evangelist Jeff Barr wrote:
“We are launching AWS Blockchain Templates today. These templates will let you launch an Ethereum (either public or private) or Hyperledger Fabric (private) network in a matter of minutes and with just a few clicks. The templates create and configure all of the AWS resources needed to get you going in a robust and scalable fashion.”
Using these templates, clients would be able to focus on building their blockchain applications instead of spending time and energy on the manual setup of their blockchain network.
AWS is a subsidiary of e-commerce giant Amazon that provides on-demand cloud computing platforms. The unit announced its plans to start working with blockchain startups in 2016. In addition to Blockchain Templates, AWS is also investing in blockchain through its partner ecosystem and infrastructure services.
“AWS Technology and Consulting partners offer a rapidly growing selection of blockchain and distributed ledger solutions with support for multiple open-source frameworks,” the website reads.
