NEW YORK, Dec. 16, 2016 -- Dr. John Bebawy, Associate Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, has been selected to join the Physician Board at the American Health Council. He will be sharing his knowledge and expertise in Neuroanesthesia, Anesthesiology, and Neurological Surgery.

Dr. Bebawy has been active in the healthcare industry for the last 10 years. He earned his M.D. from Loyola University in 2003 and completed his residency (2007) and fellowship (2008) at Northwestern University, McGraw Medical Center (Northwestern Memorial Hospital). He is board certified in Anesthesiology. He became involved in his current profession because of his interest in Pharmacology and working with patients.
Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine’s primary teaching hospital, Northwestern Memorial Hospital is one of the country’s premier academic medical center hospitals. Dr. Bebawy’s day-to-day responsibilities include acting as Staff Anesthesiology, conducting Clinical Research on Neurosurgical Anesthesia, teaching residents and fellows, and patient safety procedures.
Dr. Bebawy attributes his success to having good mentors, his strong work ethic, and always having an interest in what he is doing. Among his many accomplishments, he is most proud of having written a variety of peer-reviewed publications on new technologies in Neuroanesthesia. He is honored to have been a recipient of the Melissa Fragen Faculty Research Award and the Goldberg Charitable Trust Scholarship Award. His long-term goals include continued professional growth, more article publications, promotion to full professor, and more funding for his research.
Dr. Bebawy is a member of the American Society for Anesthesiologists, Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care, and American Medical Association.
