Anthropic discussed a 15-person team using Claude in custom-chip engineering, alongside a reported estimate that the AI could reduce design time compared with Nvidia and AMD workflows.

The team is applying Claude to engineering and design tasks. Anthropic engineers reportedly estimate that it could shorten chip-design time relative to traditional processes at Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

That comparison draws on estimates of the companies’ workflows. It does not use measured times from equivalent chip-design projects.
