Reports on Anthropic’s potential public offering describe investor valuation discussions at different levels, but none establishes a price for the company’s shares in an IPO.
Reuters reported that some attendees discussed a possible valuation of about $1.5 trillion. Bloomberg separately reported discussions between $1.8 trillion and $2 trillion. The lower figure is 25% below the $2 trillion upper end of Bloomberg’s reported range.
Anthropic, the maker of the Claude AI assistant, said June 1 that it had confidentially submitted a draft Form S-1 to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company’s announcement did not set an offering date, share count or price, and said any sale would depend on market conditions.
The valuation figures come from separate reports of investor discussions, not announced IPO terms. Earlier EconoTimes coverage of Anthropic valuation discussions also described reported estimates around $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion.
