Contracts tied to Anthropic rose following the AI company’s Nasdaq IPO filing, then pulled back, showing why a pre-IPO contract quote should not be read as the offering’s valuation.
Anthropic said Oct. 26 that it filed a registration statement with the SEC to list Class A shares under the proposed ticker ANT. The company has not set a share count or price range.
At 9:18 a.m. ET on Oct. 26, the ANTH contract was quoted at $1,869, below an earlier $1,980 level. Those figures describe the move at that time, not a current quote.
ANT is the proposed share symbol; ANTH is the pre-IPO contract. Under the ANTH contract’s pricing model, each $1 in the quote represents $1 billion in implied company value. A $1,980 quote therefore corresponds to $1.98 trillion within that model, but it does not set a valuation for the IPO. The contract gives holders no ownership, voting or dividend rights in Anthropic.
The registration statement is not yet effective.
