Apple opened a developer preview Nov. 3 for connecting third-party services with Siri AI, giving app makers a route to place their information and functions inside assistant interactions.
App Intents provide the mechanism for making an app’s data and tasks available during Siri AI requests. The preview is open to developers testing version 27.3 of iOS, iPadOS, macOS or visionOS. Possible uses include asking Siri to check a delivery, book a table or place an order. A “skills” feature lets developers package multiple actions as a single Siri interaction.
Apple introduced Siri AI for developer testing in June. EconoTimes previously covered Apple’s Oct. 26 addition of five languages to the Siri AI beta.
Apple expects customers to get the initial app integrations within the next few months. App Store submissions are expected to begin in spring, though Apple has not set specific dates for either milestone.
