Aptos (APT) fell from an Oct. 16 high of 0.8900 against Tether (USDT), but the timeline does not establish that Block-STM v2 drove the token's price by the next morning.

APT's Oct. 16 UTC close was 0.8494 USDT. At 6:20:30 a.m. ET Oct. 17 (10:20:30 UTC), it was 0.8299 USDT, after reaching 0.8569 earlier in the session.

Aptos Labs' Oct. 15 announcement described Block-STM v2 as the default setting for Aptos mainnet. Aptos Core incorporated the setting June 22; v1.49.1, a mainnet node release dated Sept. 23, includes it.

Block-STM executes transactions simultaneously, then checks their results and reruns those that fail validation. The v1.49.1 record lists no mainnet benchmark for Block-STM v2, and timing alone cannot show whether it affected APT's price.
