Aptos (APT) supply is rising by a net 1.4 million tokens per month, according to its official dashboard, with monthly staking emissions above the latest 30-day burn total.

The dashboard, updated Oct. 17, listed gross monthly staking emissions of 1.5 million APT and 174,570 APT burned over the latest 30-day period. It reports the net monthly addition separately from those figures.

The total counts APT that still exists, including locked and vesting balances, and excludes tokens removed through burns. Total supply stood at 1.2 billion APT. The dashboard also lists a 2.1 billion supply cap and a 2.6% annual staking reward rate.

Aptos’ official governance record shows Proposal 185, which implemented AIP-141, was executed March 19, 2026. It raised gas costs and storage fees 10-fold. Issuance can continue below the cap; minting above it requires further governance approval.

The assessment expected the fee change to increase users’ APT-denominated transaction bills while raising validators’ gas-fee revenue. It also said developers whose applications rely on preset fee estimates might need to revise them, adding adjustment work alongside users’ higher costs.

The assessment described the fee increase as part of moving beyond the subsidies used during Aptos’ initial rollout. It said low gas charges had made burns too small to carry much economic weight, and presented the change as a way to make them more consequential.

Execution and I/O payments permanently reduce the APT supply. If a user deletes stored data, Aptos can refund the storage fee by minting replacement APT. This means the fee categories do not affect supply in the same way.
