Zoho’s Arattai messaging app now lets recipients open locations shared in chats with MapmyIndia’s Mappls, adding another navigation option alongside Google Maps and Apple Maps.

India Today and NDTV Profit reported the feature, while Free Press Journal said Arattai’s iOS release notes list Mappls alongside Google Maps and Apple Maps. The outlet also reported that an Android prompt offers “Open with Mappls,” then gives users “Just once” and “Always” choices. Free Press Journal said the feature was available through Google Play and Apple’s App Store, but did not identify supported app versions or detail the rollout’s scope.

In a Nov. 2 post on X, Arattai said the update is intended to make it easier for users to move from a chat to navigation. The post announced a closer link between the apps but did not specify when access began or whether availability varies by region.

Arattai already supports four kinds of location sharing, according to its help page: current, pinned, saved and live locations. The page also says users can share or manage locations in personal chats, groups and channels. The new option lets recipients choose which app to use to open a location shared in a conversation.

MapmyIndia lists doorstep-level navigation, 3D Junction View, live traffic updates and safety alerts among Mappls’ features. The reports and Arattai’s post did not detail the integration’s technical design, location-data handling or commercial terms.

The idea had surfaced publicly in 2025. On Oct. 12 that year, MapmyIndia Director Rohan Verma replied on X to a user’s suggestion that Mappls be embedded in Arattai, writing, “We would be happy to make this happen!” Business Standard reported on the suggestion and response.
