Arbitrum Foundation rules published Friday, Oct. 23, set the Arbitrum Developer Guild’s revenue shares and route its current and future allocations to Offchain Labs while it remains the sole member.
Operators of eligible Arbitrum chains outside Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova contribute 10% of Net Protocol Revenue. The specification divides that amount between the Guild, which receives 2%, and the ArbitrumDAO treasury, which receives 8%.
A separate provision assigns the Guild 3% of proceeds from Priority Gas Auctions and the Sequencer Fast Feed on Arbitrum One. The rules describe Guild funding as an added incentive alongside members’ core business revenue. Membership is invite-only and merit-based.
The Arbitrum Foundation said it expects the funding to give Offchain Labs another source of support, encourage work that grows revenue for the DAO and reduce the company’s future requests to the DAO. The Foundation introduced the Guild in January 2024 alongside the Arbitrum Expansion Program.
An earlier Expansion Program plan allocated 20% of program fees to the Guild, with the remainder, including fees already collected, directed to a treasury management portfolio, according to EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of the allocation.
