BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes linked possible Bitcoin (BTC) gains to larger rescue efforts, saying such a response could follow a bigger artificial intelligence investment boom.

During an Oct. 16 appearance on Convergence, Hayes said OpenAI, Anthropic and SpaceX were unprofitable. He portrayed AI model companies as financing their work through borrowing and equity, alongside what he called implicit backing from the U.S. government.

He also cast Bitcoin as a means of displaying the consequences of spending he regards as wasteful. For token launches, he said retail purchasers could carry the loss if prices fell 95% after the generation event.
