ONTARIO, Calif., April 23, 2018 -- Auto-Graphics, Inc., an Industry-leading library management software provider and the first to provide Web-based library resource sharing solutions to library consortia, announces the latest release of the industry’s easiest to use and most affordable digital collection solution, MONTAGEdc V2.2. MONTAGEdc clients local to the Auto-Graphics’ California headquarters include Chaffey College and the City of Ontario Library.
New to MONTAGEdc V2.2 is the ability to easily customize the landing page to highlight collections and create custom sections for special exhibits or historical materials for local school study programs that incorporate Library of Congress (LOC) Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) materials. With copy cataloging, new collection items can inherit field content from the parent level, which means it is easier than ever to add new items to collections.
Key to spreading the word about these digital collections is the ability to create collection item lists and email or share on social media. These collection lists contain permalinks that link back to the items in MONTAGEdc, which makes it easy to create presentations and teaching aids that feature immediate access to materials that can be easily distributed to students. And you can easily track how popular collection items are due to the built-in statistics tracking.
Additionally, with MONTAGEdc v2.2, now librarians, archivists, and patrons can:
- Gain quick access to collections by browsing or exploring the digital collection topically with search word highlighting
- Add indexed transcripts to all file types (PDF’s, jpg’s, movie, sound, word, excel, etc.) and if OCRed, edit the transcript with annotations or corrections
- Create Synonyms Lists to increase the relevancy of search results (useful for name changes or ‘aka’ entries)
- Add multiple images to one record and put those images in a prescribed order to better tell the story
- Create Private Collections that are accessible according to defined role (guest, patron, staff)
“MONTAGEdc is a modern solution for preserving local history. It’s exciting to see collections come together with oral histories, transcripts, photos, and drawings to tell a complete story,” states Albert Flores, Vice-President Sales at Auto-Graphics. “Instead of having these items located in disparate locations, limiting their findability and associations with other materials, now archivists can link to those materials from within MONTAGEdc to tell a more complete historical story.”
