Staking market capitalization increased for most of the 10 assets in StakingRewards’ Oct. 22 snapshot, led by Avalanche (AVAX) at 9.51%, while seven assets had negative 365-day total returns.
Ethereum held the largest staking market-cap position in the Oct. 22 table, at $105.37 billion, after a 1.53% weekly rise. Solana (SOL) came next with $45.87 billion, up 2.26%; Hyperliquid ranked third at $34.73 billion after a 0.30% decline, and BNB Chain was fourth at $17.71 billion, up 1.85%. Tron (TRX) stood at $14.09 billion after falling 2.96%, the sharpest weekly drop. Avalanche logged a 9.51% gain to top the weekly table; NEAR Protocol was next, up 7.24%.
Only three assets ended the 365-day period with positive total returns: NEAR Protocol at 137.06%, Hyperliquid at 123.39% and Tron at 6.93%. The other seven were negative. Returns were -23.79% for Bittensor, -29.75% for BNB Chain, -35.49% for Ethereum, -40.31% for Solana, -49.58% for Avalanche, -58.65% for Sui (SUI) and -65.07% for Cardano (ADA).
The ranking lists annual staking return on investment apart from the 365-day total-return measure, which includes token-price changes and staking rewards. Bittensor posted the highest annual staking return on investment at 14.32%; Avalanche’s was 6.79%, despite its negative total return. Across most of the listed assets, annual token-price declines outweighed rewards from staking.
Other indicators put Sui’s staking ratio at 70.77%, the highest in the snapshot. Solana led wallet counts with 1,340,093 staking wallets. Avalanche’s weekly wallet total declined 10.46%, while Ethereum’s fell 1.94%.
