Axcelis Technologies and Veeco Instruments have shifted their proposed merger target to the first quarter of 2027, extending the timetable as the transaction awaits approval from China's market regulator.

The companies had previously aimed to close the deal during the second half of 2026. Completion still requires clearance from China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR).

Axcelis also plans a finance leadership change on Nov. 12, when Jeroen Delsman is due to become chief financial officer. Interim CFO David Ryzhik is slated for a senior vice president role spanning corporate development and investor relations. Work on combining the businesses is part of the role's remit.
