Richards will lead the BLITZ client services and delivery groups in addition to its integrated strategy relationships across all offices, including LA, New York and Boston.
“Tom is a forward thinking, strategic and passionate thought leader who has worked with some of the world’s top brands in a wide range of categories,” notes Ivan Todorov, co-founder and CEO at BLITZ. “His experience and background will be instrumental in helping cement our commitment to brand-first leadership in an integrated, digitally-led marketing world.”
Richards, with more than 20 years of industry experience, joins BLITZ from M&C Saatchi where he was Director, Client Service. Prior to this, Richards held various roles at Deutsch, BBDO and Campbell-Ewald, working on award-winning brands such as Google, Apple, Starbucks and Expedia.com. Industry awards include Cannes, ADDYs, The Shorty Awards, Effies, Telly Awards, CLIOS, and Corporate Social Media Awards.
As client leader, Richards will oversee the development of client-agency engagement objectives and the agency’s delivery against them, which encompasses client marketing goals and the agency’s work quality, growth and profit targets.
As well, Richards will collaborate with the head of strategy to develop and refine best practices for the agency’s strategic processes, while directing the agency’s creative output in Los Angeles.
“While many agencies talk digital, BLITZ launched with digital DNA in their system,” says Richards about the agency that started in 2001 in Silicon Valley with tech clients Microsoft and Google. “BLITZ has never followed trends, instead choosing to constantly create them, re-inventing ways to reach people in smart, indelible ways. Ivan has a strong vision for this company and I’m inspired to be a part of this team.”
