BTS V is known to be part of the “Wooga Squad” in the entertainment industry. However, many fans are confused or still don’t really know what this name means.
The mystery of the “Wooga Squad”
The BTS member has been mentioning this name for years and many fans also tried to guess what it means but apparently, they all failed when V himself finally explained its real meaning. Many thought that he could be referring to himself as a singer and an actor for the former is “gasu” in Korean while the latter is “baewoo.”
This assumption was proven wrong when in a video shared by a fan on social media, BTS V explains that “Wooga” is a phrase that means “We are family.” The squad is composed of V, Park Seo Joon, Choi Woo Shik, Park Hyung Sik and Peakboy and they called their group “Wooga” since they feel that although they are not related by blood, they feel that they are real brothers.
In fact, the members of this group are often shown expressing their support for each other when they have a new drama or concerts. They attend each others’ shows or they send out food trucks to the set to show their care.
The amazing star power of V
At any rate, aside from having amazing friends who are always there for him, BTS V has an amazing star power too. In fact, it was reported that he was the reason why a bracelet company that was on the brink of closure was given a second chance and prospered.
Last year, fans noticed the bracelets that 24-year-old was wearing in most of his pictures and these were shared on social media. Not long after that, the bracelets were sold out quickly. It was later learned that it was from a brand called CCNMADE.
Although BTS V was not endorsing the products, his photos wearing the bracelets went viral and they got sold out really fast. It turned out that he unofficially endorsed the brand because it is supporting cats, dogs and children with heart disease.
The owner of CCNMADE, Choi Chang Nam, shared that BTS V was a big help to keep the company going. At that time, she was already considering closing it out because they are not earning anymore but when the singer wore their bracelets, their profits exponentially increased and they are back in business.
“I was on the brink of giving up,” The Live Mirror quoted Nam as saying. “I decided this year would be my last push. The three stores I opened would be my final effort and if that doesn’t work, then that would be the end but V’s patronage helped our business.”
