The Bank of Japan reviewed liquidity in markets for Japanese government bonds (JGBs) and money market trends at an Oct. 14 meeting, alongside presentations on financial conditions and the central bank’s market operations.

The BOJ’s Financial Markets Department published a summary on Oct. 15. The event took place at the central bank’s head office and brought together people responsible for market sections at counterparties that transact with the Bank’s head office. The department’s Director-General and the heads of its Coordination and Market Analysis, Market Operations, and Market Infrastructure divisions also attended.

After opening remarks by the Director-General, division heads presented on recent financial market developments and the Bank’s operations, conditions in JGB markets, and the Tokyo Money Market Survey (August 2026), which covers trends in Japan’s money market. A question-and-answer session followed.
