Japan’s Services Producer Price Index (SPPI) tracks prices for services sold between businesses and services provided to the country’s central and local governments. The Bank of Japan uses the measure to assess supply, demand and price conditions in those markets, and it also serves as a deflator and a reference for businesses setting prices.

The Bank of Japan’s next policy meeting is scheduled for Oct. 29-30.
