Bayern Munich returned to the top of the Bundesliga table with a 3-1 away victory over SC Freiburg at Europa-Park Stadion on Oct. 25, ESPN reported.

The victory put Bayern back in first place on a day when TSG Hoffenheim beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 at PreZero Arena. Hoffenheim scored all three goals from the 79th minute onwards.

Dayot Upamecano opened the scoring for Bayern in the 16th minute, and Serge Gnabry added their second in the 42nd, according to ESPN's scoreboard.

Those goals gave Bayern a 2-0 lead at halftime. Freiburg's goal came through a Tom Bischof own goal in the 82nd minute, cutting the deficit to one.

Michael Olise scored Bayern's third in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time. His goal restored the visitors' two-goal advantage and completed the scoring at Europa-Park Stadion.

Bayern scored twice before the break and once in stoppage time, while Freiburg's only goal came between Gnabry's and Olise's strikes. The home side finished with a two-goal defeat.

At PreZero Arena, Hoffenheim and Leverkusen remained level until Andrej Kramaric converted a penalty in the 79th minute. Alexander Prass scored in the 89th to put the hosts 2-0 ahead.

Max Moerstedt added Hoffenheim's third in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time. Leverkusen finished without a goal, while each of Hoffenheim's three goals came from a different scorer.

The two matches were played on Sunday, Oct. 25. Both ended with three goals for the winning side, with Bayern winning away and Hoffenheim at home.

The scoring followed a different sequence in each match. Bayern had established their halftime advantage through Upamecano and Gnabry before Freiburg reduced the gap after the break. Hoffenheim's opening goal, by contrast, came after a goalless first half and was followed by goals from Prass and Moerstedt.

Both winning sides completed their scoring in second-half stoppage time. Olise's finish came after the own goal had reduced Bayern's lead, while Moerstedt's goal added to the advantage Hoffenheim had built through Kramaric's penalty and Prass's subsequent strike.

Freiburg's own goal was the only goal scored by either losing side across the two matches. Bayern conceded after scoring their opening goals, while Hoffenheim scored each of their goals without a reply from Leverkusen. The results left Bayern back at the top of the table.
