Benedict Cumberbatch reportedly ended his marriage recently. It was said that the “Avengers: Endgame” actor split up with his wife, Sophie Hunter, just five years after tying the knot. But, is the 42-year-old star really single again?
According to the rumor, Benedict Cumberbatch was spotted walking alone in his driveway just this week. The actor was getting his mails when some fans saw him and some of them allegedly even commented via social media, “So very sad. Those 2 were so great as a couple. So cute together” while another one asked, “Has anyone Benedict’s phone number?” probably implying that she is interested in dating the actor since he is now back in the market.
There were also reports that Cumberbatch and his wife’s marriage was only for a show, a PR stunt to make him more famous. Is it really for publicity only?
It appears that these reports are false. It is easy to debunk as it was only a few months ago when it was confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are welcoming their third child soon. They have been married since 2015, and the actor is happy with his wife and kids.
As for the rumors about his marriage to Hunter and having kids are just for publicity, Cumberbatch already refuted this news some time ago. In his interview with a magazine, the “Sherlock” star firmly stated that he genuinely loves his wife and kids.
"There are people who believe that my wife is a PR stunt and my child is a PR stunt. I think really it's to do with the idea that the 'Internet's boyfriend' can't actually belong to anyone else but the Internet, he told Vanity Fair. It's impossible he belongs to anyone but me. And that's what stalking is. That's what obsessive, deluded, really scary behavior is."
It is clear that the divorce reports about Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife are false. They are expecting their third child soon, and these rumors are probably coming out because until now, they have managed to keep their private lives away from the public eye.
